What are Facebook Stories?

Facebook Stories allows users to post photos, videos, and animations which disappear after 24 hours. Snapchat Stories, introduced in 2013, is very similar.

Facebook released a video to demonstrate the benefits of Stories. Let your camera speak.

Facebook Stories don’t allow comments or likes, unlike most posts. When viewers interact with Stories, they do so through Facebook Messenger.

What is the best place to view Facebook stories?

Facebook Stories does not appear in News Feeds. Stories are displayed at the top of the Messenger app, not in the News Feed.

The Stories are located at the top right of the sidebar on the Facebook desktop.

Please tap on the profile picture of someone to view their Facebook Story. If you have not seen their Story, a blue circle will surround the user’s profile picture.

Facebook Stories are displayed in full screen. Tap the screen’s left or right side to skip forward or backward.

Why should your business use it, then?

Facebook: The Power of Facebook to Businesses

Yep. Facebook is accessed by more than one billion people every day. According to ComScore, the average Facebook user logs in eight times per day.

This group of users is so valuable that Ads on Facebook dominate all social media advertising. 93% of social media advertisers use the service.

What about Facebook Stories?

The Rise of the Stories format

Snapchat Stories was launched in 2013, and the world waited to see how the concept would do. Snapchat evangelist Gary Vaynerchuk even denounced the Stories format.

Snapchat Stories have been a big hit.

A few months after the service’s launch, Mark Zuckerberg saw its potential. I offered to purchase the company for a cool 3 billion dollars. The offer was rejected as Snapchat grew.

You can still copy them if you cannot buy them.

Fast forward three years. In August 2016, Facebook introduced Instagram Stories, and six months later, Facebook WhatsApp status.

In March 2017, Facebook launched Facebook Stories to finish its assault on Snapchat.

While only 10 percent of Facebook’s 1,45 billion daily active users use Facebook Stories, Statistica states, “Facebook Snapchat clones have beaten the original.”

Facebook Stories may be the least-used app, but that will likely change as Facebook pushes the Stories feature.

Stated Connor Hayes as, the product manager of Facebook Stories. This, in turn, changes the way people share and interact online.

He said: “Snapchat has been a pioneer in this area.”

Facebook Stories Replaces the News Feed

According to Facebook’s Head for News Feed, Adam Mosseri, in January 2018, Facebook began to “shift ranking” to make News Feed about connecting with other people and less about media consumption alone.

In a Facebook post, Zuckerberg said: “As this is rolled out, you will see less public content, such as posts from brands, businesses, and media.” The public content you will see more of should also be held to the same standard, i.e., it should encourage meaningful interaction between people.

This means that Facebook is emphasizing less on marketing and more on content from friends and family. It’s a return to an earlier value of Facebook.

What can marketers do to help?

Use Facebook Stories to your advantage. This format allows you to bypass News Feeds and reach your desired audience naturally. Remember that sharing through Stories was predicted to surpass sharing via feeds in 2019 (and most likely did).

Your Stories will also be displayed above the News Feeds of users.

Not only that but there’s more.

Facebook Stories: A Marketing Tool of Power

Facebook Stories now has over 150 million daily active users. This number will continue growing as more users migrate to Facebook Stories from the News Feed.

Facebook Stories is a great way to share your stories with friends and family.

Nothing can grab people’s interest like a little FOM.

Gary Vaynerchuk says: “It is not the number of followers, but how many are interested.” It’s not about width but depth. “It’s not about how many impressions, but how much attention your message gets.”

Facebook Stories is also a great way to share authentic content in real-time.

This level of authenticity and connection can be compelling. 94% say that they are likely to remain loyal if a brand offers complete transparency.

Plus, it is accessible at a time when many tools don’t.

Facebook Stories will soon have the option of placing ads that are paid. This will contribute to Facebook dominating social media advertising.

Bottom Line: Facebook Stories are the future.

You can interact with your audience all day long.
