You’re probably already familiar with Google snippets. Let’s take a look at the basics of Google’s ever-changing and complex world. We’ll then discuss how to achieve rich and featured snippets and the best way to optimize your site for them. We all use Google every day, and we’ve probably seen these snippets.

We may not have been aware of the term or the way businesses can use these features to influence what appears on the SERP or search engine results page (of course, there is an acronym for this!). A featured snippet refers to that section of the page that is highlighted and provides answers to questions entered into the search box. Rich snippets, on the other hand, include extra information provided directly in the search results pages, such as price and ratings; they appear between URL and description.

Rich Snippet

It’s hard to miss the changes in Google’s results in today’s world. You’ll see that the current search result landscape is cluttered with a lot more information, which pushes the results further down the page. Most of the time, position #1 is about halfway down the page.

What is the information that appears at the top, and how can I be part of it? You should now be able to distinguish between rich snippets and featured snippets and their benefits.

Rich snippets: We’ve already mentioned that a rich result is an enhanced organic search result with information specific to your search query. You can find additional information on the webpage itself without clicking through. Rich snippets can appear anywhere in the SERP. This is different from featured snippets, which always appear on top. A rich snippet of this article, for example, may include breadcrumb navigation as well as a sentence or so taken from the article.

Rich snippets and enhanced organic search results have several advantages, including more space on the SERP, higher click-through rates (CTR), and, ultimately, a higher ranking based on SEO results and efforts.

Featured snippet: The featured snippet, also called position zero, is an answer that appears before the organic search results and above the first result. Google uses a program to extract the response from the webpage and then enhance it to attract user attention. These featured snippets, or “answer boxes,” are displayed in a variety of visual formats. They can be presented as a paragraph summary (sentence descriptions), arranged in a list (step-by-step or how-to instructions), or as graphical data (prices or data points).

A featured snippet’s goal is to give the user up-front and accurate information while reducing the number of clicks to sites that are irrelevant or don’t provide an answer to the question. Here’s an example of a snippet that tells us more about SEO… Google determined Moz had the best solution, so it gave them the featured snippet.

Visibility is the main benefit of featured snippets. Your content will be at the top organically if it answers the user’s question. So, claiming “position zero.” The organic factor is key. You cannot buy or pay for the featured snippet position; you must earn it. Indeed, your page could still appear at the bottom of the first page rather than at the top. The featured snippets give you the opportunity to be #1.

You’re not only answering questions with the featured snippet, but you are also building trust. A reader who receives a credible response from your website directly on the SERP is more likely to click through and trust your site. If your answer appears at the top, the reader will know that Google has approved it, and you deserve the top spot.

How To Get Featured Snippets

There’s no code or special thing you can do to make your site appear in the featured snippets on Google. Google determines programmatically which answers are featured. There have been conflicting reports about what exactly helps you appear in these snippets. You’re in luck. You can adjust your content and take a few steps to climb the mountain to reach the top of Google SERP.

Snippets on How to Make Money

Google recommends schema markup as the preferred format to implement structured data on your website. Select and mark the content type you want to use and then insert it into every page of your website in HTML. Make sure you include all the necessary information for Google to understand your organization or business, including its URL, logo, and name. You can also use the Google tools to test and check your code. After you have confirmed that your code is accurate, check to see if your rich snippets are appearing on the SERP.

It may take Google a few days to crawl your site for updates. Rich snippets are generally easier to obtain than featured snippets. You should see the results of your efforts if you follow the correct steps.
