Genesis Framework comes with many SEO settings and customizations that can impact your SEO either directly or indirectly. Some of these are not completely clear to users who have never seen them.

Homepage SEO Settings

Meta title and description for the homepage.

Set the robot meta tags on your homepage (such as noindex or nofollow).

Document Head Setting

Activate or deactivate the relationship link tags.

You can control which tags appear on your header (e.g., short links, Windows Live Writer, etc.).

Robots Meta Setting

Select default settings for categories, tags, author pages, and archives. You can set these as index, library, or nofollow.

Set SEO options on various archive pages.

Do you have to use Genesis settings for SEO?

You do not have to use the SEO settings that Genesis offers.

Genesis will turn off its SEO features if you choose to use another SEO plug-in, like Yoast SEO, All in One SEO Pack, or All in One SEO Pack. This is to avoid any conflicts or redundant functions.
